Military Monday: "The Great War": Military Registration Cards from Camp Dodge, Polk County, Iowa (James W. BRADY)
During a visit to the Gold Star Museum at Camp Dodge, Polk County, Iowa, I found their library had thousands of registration cards from World War I. I scanned about 30 of them for names in my family tree (not necessarily related). I have not found these in any database, anywhere online.
So, for about the next year, I will be presenting them here.
This is the card for my 2nd cousin 1x removed: James Wade Brady. James has an interesting pedigree in that both his grandparents were named Brady. His grandmother was Ellen Brady, sister to my great grandmother Catharine Brady Hanlon. (see pedigree at end of this post).
James was born the 4th of January 1897 in Des Moines, Polk County, Iowa. He was living at 1148 - West 12th St in Des Moines, Polk County, Iowa when he was inducted in Des Moines on the 6th of September 1918.
