Our family lost the most avid family history researcher yesterday. Mary Ellyn Brady Cooper was born on the first of October 1927 in Des Moines, Polk County, Iowa and arrived in heaven to finally meet all those ancestors she pursued on the 12th of December 2015. Mary's middle name at birth was spelled "Ellen". At some point she changed it to "Ellyn".
Mary's optimistic and positive attitude was evident every minute of her life. She pursued her family history for over 50 years and left a wealth of hand written or typed family group sheets, ancestor charts, and notes.
My heart aches, for I will miss her encouragement and love. My heart is filled with joy that she has been set free of her pain.
